Aurora Recovery Centre is rising to become one of Canada’s most prominent addiction treatment centres in recovery-oriented systems of care. With a whole-person treatment philosophy, we’re creating professional referral partnerships from the start to help transform the lives of those who suffer from substance use and mental health disorders into strong, functioning, capable individuals in recovery.
Whether you’re a clinician, professional or employer, your role in the lives of people who suffer from addiction and mental illness is crucial to their successful recovery.
Workplace, Family, and Community
Undiagnosed, untreated or ineffectively treated Substance Use Disorder (SUD) presents a serious risk to your organization. This risk includes, and extends far beyond, safety concerns. Canadian research shows that the lack of an effective response to addiction disorders results in jeopardizing safety, production, employee morale, job satisfaction and consumption of benefits.
When substance use and addiction is addressed, you’re doing more than just helping one person; you’re investing in the improvement of the whole of your workplace and community.
The same exposure to risk can predictably occur when an employee’s family member suffers from an addiction disorder.
Your staff member tries to deal with the stress. Sleepless nights. Distracted. Safety, production and morale issues result.
A workplace that seeks to minimize risk is well-advised to extend substance use programs and policies to include employee’s families.
In a time when societal stigma often reduces addiction and mental health to moral perversity or bad choices, research and evidence points us in the direction of understanding that full-family healing is essential for workplace wellness.
Best Practices and Outcomes
Addiction treatment at Aurora is based on science-backed and evidence-based addiction treatment of substance use and mental health disorders.
Using the best practices and suggestions of ASAM and DSM-5 criteria as guidance, our commitment to contemporary, clinical, therapeutic and complementary treatments recognizes the need for whole body, mind and spirit healing alongside, not instead of, evidence- and research-based treatment.
With current screening and placement criteria, our members’ treatment needs are comprehensively and expertly assessed with the most contemporary medical/clinical tools and information.
From first point of contact all the way through the treatment process, we implement step-up or step-down levels of care using industry-standard best practices. Our powerful, integrated psycho-social and somatic approach to treatment touches all phases of a multi-dimensional continuum of care.
Recovery Is Accessible, Planned And Manageable
We recognize the importance of your involvement in substance use treatment from the beginning. Our Recovery Management Systems are created and implemented in collaboration with physicians, psychiatrists, counsellors, employers and family members, including them in the planning process from start to completion.
Our ongoing recovery management system works with your organization through collaborative planning, ongoing monitoring and adaptability, and consistent reporting.
Consistent communication with you ensures our members receive the specific, individualized care they need in a way that works within your organization’s systems of care.
Recovery Management Systems
Our Recovery Management Systems assets include Residential Inpatient Treatment, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), on-site, 24-hour medical detox, Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient programming, Transitional Housing, relapse prevention programs, group counselling, individual counselling, support groups, recovery coaches, and a confidence-building mix of social and volunteer events available online and in person.
Aurora’s Extended Care programs offer members the opportunity to gradually return to work while remaining in care, or provide support in evenings and weekends while they work on their graduated Return To Work Plan.
Together, these supportive pieces help build a welcoming, accessible therapeutic community for those trying to establish and maintain recovery.
Aurora’s carefully designed approach means better treatment outcomes. Families and individuals are linked with resources that provide motivation and hope, and an ability to live a new and physically, emotionally and spiritually prosperous life.
