COVID Response Plan: Aurora Recovery Centre Update

COVID Response Plan: Pandemic Update | Aurora Recovery Centre

Updated: Aurora’s COVID Response Plan

Manitoba’s current provincial COVID-19 pandemic response level: CRITICAL

Aurora Recovery Centre, as an essential service, is open during the COVID-19 pandemic, continuing to offer inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment services within our province’s prevention orders and protocols.

Our leadership team remains in regular communication with the Province of Manitoba’s health authority and shared health professionals. We place our trust in physicians who have their finger on the pulse of proper COVID-19 transmission prevention and protective measures.

On behalf of Aurora Recovery Centre, I’d like to acknowledge all the essential workers who are tirelessly taking care of our needs behind the scenes. We are deeply grateful for your dedication and especially thankful to our healthcare workers putting themselves in harms way and taking care of the most vulnerable among us. As we all join together to overcome our challenges, I am reminded once again of how valuable community is here in Manitoba. Please know that, in our eyes, you are all true heroes.

Evolving COVID Response Plan

Our practices to reduce COVID-19 at this time include:

  • Physical distancing
  • Staff wear masks at all times
  • Members wear masks for 14 days upon admission
  • Masks worn by everyone when distancing is not possible
  • Discouraging off-site interaction with people outside their personal “bubble”
  • Hand hygiene
  • Cleaning and disinfecting of equipment and environment
  • Two separate meal seatings
  • Dining tables doubled up to allow for increased spacing
  • Floor lines spaced apart for individuals to stand at while lining up for food
  • No visitors

While we understand frustration or negative feedback with our practices, these protocols are a provincial mandate, and we as an organization wish to remain good stewards in our province.

We recognize that any sort of upheaval creates fear and anxiety for many. We commit to communicating our continually evolving COVID response plan during the pandemic transparently, clearly and often as we continue to navigate through this time where there is little certainty and little clarity.

We want to do our part during the COVID-19 pandemic to keep the health and safety of our entire community as our top priority.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, support and cooperation through all this.

We will continue to update this page as needed.
