Individual Therapy

We help people work on their individual mental and emotional health issues. We assist people who suffer from depression, anxiety, anger, self-esteem issues, guilt/shame and trauma.

Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT)

Through MFT, you and your partner/family will address the behaviors of all members, the way these behaviors affects not only each family member but also relationships between family members and the family unit as a whole. Our therapists provide individual therapy and time in couple therapy, family therapy, and both if necessary.

The Comprehensive Addiction Treatment Program (CAT)

CAT is for adults who suffer from addiction and mental health disorders but aren’t able or willing to participate in residential treatment. CAT members are abstinent or are on a managed taper program to become abstinent while participating in the program.

At the beginning of CAT, our therapists conduct a formal assessment to create a personalized treatment plan.

Members will:

  • Participate in three group therapy sessions (Eight hours altogether)
  • Attend one individual counselling session every week of the program

CAT provides a safe, professional, and confidential setting for members to address any physical, emotional, social, mental, and spiritual issues that underlie their addiction.

The workshops consists of a series of topics that build on each other during the program

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

EFT  offers healing from physical and emotional pain and disease. This form of acupuncture doesn’t use needles. Instead, it uses the fingertips to stimulate energy points on the body.

Arc Counselling’s team provides expert facilitation in the group programs and skilled counselling and therapy work in one-on-one sessions.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR was developed by the psychologist Francine Shapiro as a treatment for trauma. Her research and practice of EMDR won her the International Sigmund Freud Award for distinguished contribution to psychotherapy by the city of Vienna and the World Council, the Distinguished Scientific Achievement in Psychology Award by the California Psychology Council, and the Award for Outstanding Contributions to Practice in Trauma Psychology by the American Psychological Association Trauma Division.

EMDR is a non-invasive, evidence-based method of psychotherapy that uses adaptive information to process memories in the brain. It is primarily used for someone that has undergone trauma and has been found to be effective for recovery in:

  • Drug and alcohol addiction
  • Post-traumatic stress disorders
  • Eating disorders
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Personality disorders

Auricular Acupuncture

Acupuncture helps ease people who suffer from chronic anxiety disorders, stress, allergies, addiction cravings, and pain. Ear acupuncture reduces the most common withdrawal symptoms such as worry, anxiety, and cravings. It also helps people sleep better.

Family Program Workshops

The Family Program workshop helps the loved ones of addicts by educating family members about the disease of addiction and providing a new set of tools to cope.

This program includes:

  • 18 hours of educational group activities
  • A one-on-one follow-up counseling session

The workshops are offered with two different schedules:

  • Three-day schedule

The workshop consists of a series of topics that build on each other as the program progresses. Multiple delivery mediums are used and there is significant peer-to-peer engagement throughout the program duration.
