A Message from Paul Melnuk, Founder and Chairman
I know the power of recovery from firsthand experience. I have witnessed thousands of alcoholics and addicts of all kinds, with and without co-occurring mental health disorders, change their lives for the better, restore their relationships and become healthy and productive members of their communities. I have also seen people die from the ravages of addiction and mental health disorders. At Aurora, we strive to arrest the latter and achieve the former.
I believe wholeheartedly that a successful business is one built on the principle of serving its customers better than anyone else in its industry. At Aurora, we have created an environment that attracts, retains and motivates the most caring, compassionate, committed and capable team members who do all they can to serve our members needs. This is the core of our culture.
I have had an extensive and rewarding career in which I have led a number of multi-billion-dollar, international public companies and also many smaller, privately held businesses. My experience spans a variety of industries including addiction treatment. I have been involved in turnaround situations, high growth, and A-rated companies. I am deeply passionate about recovery as it has profoundly affected my life, and all for the better. I have had many successes, faced many challenges, and I have a wealth of experiences from each of these opportunities.
Aurora is establishing a new standard in the treatment industry. We do everything possible to help our members begin and support their journey of recovery for life. Please come and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed.
Paul D. Melnuk
Founder and Chairman
Our purpose is to help people heal from the chronic disease of addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders, stay clean and sober and have healthy relationships so that they become active in recovery for life.
Our treatment process focuses on the needs of each individual and stands on three pillars that reflect our philosophy toward our members’ recovery. These pillars guide us as we work to heal our members’ minds, bodies, and spirits. We aim to reconnect our members with their true selves and their community and provide them with the tools they need to sustain their recovery for life.
Our evidence-based treatment is holistic, based on biopsychosocial and spiritual philosophies and practices delivered by a passionate, compassionate, committed, credentialed and experienced team of qualified professionals. We utilize 12-step spiritual philosophies that have helped millions of people, however, as not every member connects with that philosophy, we utilize other approaches to help members connect with the spirituality of treatment. Mental health disorders are concurrently treated with the latest psychological, therapeutic and medical practices and a myriad of adjunctive therapies.
From the initial contact with Aurora through to continuing care, members and loved ones experience our Member-First Culture. Our members care is the most important thing we do. Staff will go above and beyond to help members find recovery for life.
We foster a culture where our members feel understood, valued and empowered to take an active role in their own recovery. They are motivated to heal from the pain of addiction and/or mental health disorders and address underlying issues so that they may lead happy, fulfilling lives.
Aurora Recovery Centre’s philosophies are consistently reflected in the way we value our members and staff. Everything we do is in the interest of our members’ recovery for life.
Aurora’s treatment process is built upon a member-first culture and stands on three pillars that reflect our philosophy toward our members’ recovery: Heal, Connect and Recover.
From initial contact with Aurora, you begin to experience our Member-First Culture. Our highly experienced Addiction Specialists help you navigate the complex, emotional decision to admit to treatment.
